James is a freelance editorial portrait and hospitality photographer based in Washington, DC. His commercial work is emotionally driven, cinematic, and focuses on editorial portraiture, interiors + architecture, and food + beverage.

James’ client and personal work have been featured in the New York Times, ELLE, GQ, Bon Appetit, National Geographic, the Washington Post, Travel + Leisure, the Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Dezeen, the Guardian, Zagat, and other national + international publications.

In April of 2019 James completed a commission from the National Gallery of Art, titled Faces of DC, along with friend and fellow photographer Phil Martin.

James is available for select projects in the DC region, nationally and worldwide.
