James is a freelance architecture and editorial photographer based in Washington, DC. His commercial work is emotionally driven, cinematic, and focuses on editorial portraiture, interiors + architecture, and food + beverage. He works regularly with boutique hotels, hotel groups, real estate development companies, and restaurants.
James’ client and personal work have been featured in the New York Times, ELLE, GQ, Bon Appetit, the Washington Post, Travel + Leisure, Forbes, Dezeen, the Guardian, Thrillist, Zagat, and other national and international publications. In March of 2015 the Guardian said he was one of the best urban Instagrammers in the US. In September of 2015 he was invited by the Obama White House to photograph Pope Francis' arrival ceremony.
