I now know what tear gas canisters sound like. That's not something I'm likely to forget soon. Today was hard — not without a few moments of humor, mind you — but hard. I don't like seeing my city like this. I don't like seeing the base, animal side of humanity running amok, especially at close range. Several times today I was on the verge of tears. My jaw is sore from clenching lest I open my mouth and say something that might get me in a fight.

Here's hoping the Women's March tomorrow brings some much-needed joy.

Women come out on their stoop to greet and cheer on protestors marching down 3rd St NE, in the Capitol Hill neighborhood.

Translation: "Donald you're a fool," if translated figuratively, or "Donald you're a dick," if translated literally.

The moment when protest turned to riot, in my mind, when people set a limosine on fire in front of the Washington Post building, on Franklin Square.

Thought I'd end things with a little humor. Here's hoping tomorrow is less chaos and more joy.
