This weekend I found myself with a rarity: free time. The past six months of this year have been very heavily scheduled as I've been moving from my day job towards my new freelance career. I've refrained from complaining about it (I chose this, after all) but, holy poop emoji, has it been tough. I'm not sure I realized how accustomed to this breakneck pace I'd become until I found myself with nothing concrete to do.... and not knowing what to do with myself as a result. Then I remembered what I used to do: go take photographs just for fun.

My fiancé's sister was in town and we had dinner plans to meet with her at Boundary Road on H Street. I asked my fiancé if we could go down a couple of hours early so we could just walk and talk (another rarity these days) and I could take some photos. He said yes because he's good like that.

It had been months since I'd been on H Street. A lot has changed at a very fast pace, which is p much the story everywhere in the District these days. So, as twilight settled into evening darkness these were the photographs I took:
