I spent the morning at the National Museum of Women in the Arts for their #emptyNMWA Instameet celebrating International Women's Day. It was insightful and thought provoking and a lot of fun!
Women make up 51% of visual artists today, but in the US only 5% of work on museum walls is by women. Many people have difficulty naming five women artists off the top of their head. The NMWA asked us to use #5womenartists as a hashtag to call attention to the gender imbalance in the presentation of art. Can you name five women artists? (I could only name four. 🤔)

Below is a photo of Rendez-vous (Gemini 6) and Rendez-vous (Gemini 7), by Grazia Toderi, my favorite pieces on display today. To quote the plaque next to the pieces,

Toderi created this pair of photographs from her two-screen video installation also entitled Rendez-vous. Using digital techniques, she depicted a pair of NASA's Gemini space capsules from the 1960s floating beneath the dome of a Baroque-era church. She is interested in both scientific and cultural perceptions of the earthly and heavenly realms.
